David Walliams dropped by book publisher.
Acclaimed young adult author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, the company has said.
An official for the company stated: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the move was reached following an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.
The firm declined to specify the motivations for this action, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Some of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.
To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, encompassing a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.
A Dual Career
His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.
The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
